Use subject pronouns in simple identity sentences.
People, not past endings
أَنَا I; أَنْتَ you, one male; أَنْتِ you, one female; هُوَ he; هِيَ she; نَحْنُ we. The final vowel distinguishes أَنْتَ from أَنْتِ. In typing those forms, the t vowel is required.

Names and roles
طالب is a male student, طالبة a female student; معلّم a male teacher, معلّمة a female teacher. The speaker's role word agrees with their gender. Omit present-tense am/is in these simple sentences.

More than one
أنتم addresses a male or mixed group; أنتنّ an all-female group. هم and هنّ mean they for the same groups; أنتما means you two and هما means they two. Groups here contain three or more people.
