Use core prepositions with the five present verbs.

Places and things

بيت home/house; مدرسة school; مكتبة library; سوق market; باب door; درس lesson. These words join the verbs you know. طاولة means table.

Location, destination, origin

في means in/at; إلى to; من from; على on. Prepositions come before their noun, which is genitive in fully case-marked MSA. Case endings are not tested here.

أدرس في المكتبة / أذهب إلى المدرسة

Short routine

أنا أدرس في البيت. هي تذهب إلى المدرسة. نحن ندخل المكتبة. Enter can take a direct object: ندخل المكتبة; no extra preposition is needed in that model.

الكتاب على الطاولة

The book is on the table (طاولة).
