Useful nouns

غرفة room; مطبخ kitchen; طاولة table; كرسي chair; حقيبة bag; مفتاح key; شارع street. Learn these as singular vocabulary items.

Where things are

تحت under; أمام in front of; خلف behind; قرب near. These location words precede a noun. Like prepositions, their following noun is genitive in the fully case-marked model; here case endings are omitted.

Having something

عندي means I have, literally at me. عندي مفتاح means I have a key. With my, حقيبة becomes حقيبتي: ة changes to ت before ي.
