Vowel or consonant? Choose the article

Decide when to use l’ and when to keep il or la.

The idea

In the everyday singular examples here, use l’ before a vowel for both genders: l’amico and l’amica. It joins directly to the noun. The answer is l’ alone, with the apostrophe, not the whole word. Choose the l’ button when an apostrophe is needed.
