Dem, der, den: helping and giving
Complete articles for recipients and dative verbs.
The idea
Dative articles are dem (masculine), der (feminine), dem (neuter) and den (plural). Dative can mark a recipient, but verbs such as helfen and danken also require it. Plural nouns often add -n; we supply that ending so you complete only the article.
