Use selected aorist forms and notice the changed case pattern.

Completed writing

მე დავწერე; შენ დაწერე; მან დაწერა; ჩვენ დავწერეთ; თქვენ დაწერეთ; მათ დაწერეს. These are the supplied aorist forms of write. Compare present ის/ისინი with aorist მან/მათ in this pattern.

Subject and object both matter

ის წერილს წერს = he/she is writing a letter; მან წერილი დაწერა = he/she wrote a letter. In this completed transitive pattern, the subject is ergative and the object nominative. Do not apply this to every past-tense verb.

Completed reading

მე წავიკითხე = I read/finished reading (past); მან წაიკითხა = he/she read (past). Use წიგნი as the object here. გუშინ = yesterday.

გუშინ მე წიგნი წავიკითხე.

Yesterday I read the book.
