Subjects and present objects
Use selected nominative and dative forms with writing and reading.
Roles have endings
For the present patterns taught here, the subject is nominative and the direct object is dative. წიგნი book → წიგნს; წერილი letter → წერილს. This is not a rule for every Georgian verb.
ის წიგნს კითხულობს.
He/she reads a book.
A small case map
Georgian has nominative, ergative, dative, genitive, instrumental, adverbial, and vocative cases. This course practices selected functions and complete forms. Nominative is used in წიგნი აქ არის; dative in წიგნს ვკითხულობ.

ტექსტი text → ტექსტს; ქართული Georgian → ქართულს when naming the language being learned. A noun ending must match its role, not the English position.
ჩვენ ტექსტს ვწერთ.
